🏭 Labour Management Software for Manufacturing Units

In a factory, workers are often paid in different ways: by piece, by day or by month, and they work across day and night shifts. LabourFlow ERP brings workforce records, attendance, production, payroll and client billing into one platform so the numbers match from the shop floor to the salary sheet. This page explains how a manufacturing unit can run that routine and which features help.

The problem with managing shop-floor labour on paper and Excel

Most small and mid-size factories start with a muster register, a production slip book and an Excel sheet for salary. It works until headcount grows, shifts increase or a client questions the billing. Then the same worker's attendance, pieces and advances sit in three different places.

Typical problems we hear about in manufacturing units in general:

One system for piece, daily and monthly workers

LabourFlow ERP keeps a worker master with profiles, KYC and document records (Aadhaar is shown masked) and bank details. Each worker can be set to a piece-rate, daily or monthly wage model, and hybrid payroll lets one factory run all three together.

Workers can get ID cards with QR badges, and a worker self-service portal gives them access to their own information.

Attendance across shifts

Attendance can be captured by QR kiosk or badge scan at the gate, by manual entry, or by Excel bulk upload. Multiple shifts and night shifts are supported, and leave and overtime go through approvals.

If you use GPS-geofenced mobile punch for any staff, workers are shown a notice before location tracking starts. Collect worker consent as per your own policy and use location only during work.

Production and piece-rate calculation

The production engine tracks output by factory, department, shift, machine and operator. Supervisors fill a daily grid, rejection and scrap can be logged, and offline mode with background sync helps where network is weak.

A 3-way calculation holds the customer price, the worker rate and the contractor margin together. For example, if a customer pays ₹10 a piece, the worker rate is ₹6 and the margin is the remaining amount, you can see it per piece and per job instead of guessing at month end. These numbers are only an illustration.

A daily routine: before and after

Before: supervisors note attendance and pieces on paper, the office re-types them, advances are tracked separately, and payroll is calculated in a long sheet before payday.

After: workers punch in by badge or kiosk, the supervisor enters production in the daily grid, advances are recorded as given, and payroll uses attendance, production and advance deductions already in the system. Payouts can go in bulk by bank or UPI through RazorpayX from your own RazorpayX account; LabourFlow does not hold money. Payslips can be printed or shared on WhatsApp.

Invoices can then be raised from approved production with GST invoice PDF or print, payment status and customer ledgers. Dashboards show live production and profit, attendance count, payroll paid versus pending and client receivables.

A note on labour laws

Minimum wages, PF / ESI, overtime, the Factories Act, the Contract Labour Act and the new Labour Codes differ by state and change over time. Treat any software setup as a record-keeping tool and confirm your rules with a labour-law consultant or CA.

Frequently asked questions

Can one factory pay some workers by piece and others by day or month?

Yes. LabourFlow ERP supports piece-rate, daily and monthly wage models, and hybrid payroll lets you run them together in the same payroll cycle.

Does it handle night shifts and multiple shifts?

Yes. Multiple shifts and night shifts are supported, along with leave and overtime approvals. Attendance can come from QR kiosk, badge scan, manual or Excel entry.

Can supervisors enter production if the network is poor?

The production module has an offline mode with background sync, so entries made on the shop floor can sync later when the connection returns.

What is the price of the software?

Pricing depends on the number of workers and modules you use; ask us for a quote.
