Shoppers increasingly ask AI assistants questions like "best running shoes for flat feet under ₹5,000" or "which organic skincare brand is good for oily skin". The products in those answers win the click. Here is what helps products appear accurately.
1. Get your product feed right
Google Merchant Center product data feeds Google's shopping experiences, and clean product data helps everywhere else too. Fix disapprovals and warnings, and complete every relevant attribute: brand, GTIN, size, colour, material, gender, age group and condition.
2. Write product titles the way shoppers ask
A title like "Men's Running Shoe – Lightweight, Flat-Foot Support, Size 8–12, Blue" tells search systems far more than "Model RX-200". Put the most important attributes first.
3. Add accurate product structured data
Product, Offer, Review and shipping markup on your product pages helps search systems understand price, availability and ratings. The markup must match what is visible on the page.
4. Build genuine, detailed reviews
AI answers lean on what real customers say. Ask every buyer for a review after delivery, make it easy (WhatsApp or email link), and encourage specific detail such as fit, use case and durability. Never buy or fake reviews.
5. Publish buying guides and honest comparisons
Helpful guides ("how to choose", "X vs Y", "best for…") give AI tools something useful to cite. Keep comparisons factual and fair, including where a competitor's product suits some buyers better.
6. Be present on the sites AI cites
Check which review sites, publications and comparison pages appear in AI answers for your category, then work to be accurately listed and reviewed there.
7. Measure what AI sends you
Track identifiable referral traffic from AI assistants in Google Analytics 4, along with purchases, and test your key product questions monthly.
